Mick was born in Coventry in...Well lets just say it was after the war. With music all around him it was obvious he would get hooked. His Granddad was a club singer and his Dad was a keen mouth organ player. Many a happy Xmas was spent listening to Polish songs played on a mouth organ (not). First instruments bought were a drum and a violin. First instruments sold were, well you can guess that. At about 10yrs a guitar and at 13yrs a trumpet. The guitar was practiced in the garage and the trumpet in a big field locally. Surprisingly Mick became a very accomplished trumpet player playing at many large concerts and with the Coventry Theatre Orchestra with the one and only Len Pepper. School days saw Mick in the school orchestra and several of the lads put together a band. One member still does a bit today. Barry Walker.   He's got a little act called Smackee or something like that. Chance played a large part in Mick's career. Meeting and working with  some of the greats in rock. Jimi Hendrix, Richie Blackmore, Phil Lynnot and more recently Elton John (before the knighthood) have ensured that Mick never got fed up with the industry. Although he never name drops and stays remarkably unspoilt.

In memory of a special friend   Jack

Marie was born in Coventry in.... Lets see, she must be 24 yrs old  now so that makes it about '76 (not). First musical steps were taken to the sounds of the Bay City Rollers. (Sad or what). She met up with Mick in the early 80's and was immediately taken in by his talent and knowledge of about everything and  yet, always modest, warm, caring and so good looking. She became a part time sound engineer with some of Coventry's best original bands. Sadly none of them seemed to last very long.  Having always been involved in amateur dramatics it seemed quite natural to make the move to the stage with TRYX and things have never looked better. Having the chance to sing with some of the greatest female vocalists has brought Marie to the standard she is at today.

NOTE  A special thank you to the few that have inspired me. Barry, thank you for not phoning me very often. Dawn, for giving Marie the confidence she has today. Dave, for the endless months on the phone teaching me about the MC500. Nigel, for showing me that things could be worse. Johnny Oswin for teaching me never to eat veggie pasties. H from Steps for helping me with the dance routines, thanks mate and of course Marie and Nick for putting up with me.  One last thanks to our stage clothes supplier. Thank you Oxfam. Now load up the van and lets go home.
